The USGA has designed several innovative ways to elevate the on-site fan experience at the 123rd U.S. Open Championship, which will take place at The Los Angeles Country Club from June 12-18. 

“We have worked closely with our incredible partners to develop several exciting ways to enhance the fans’ on-site experience for the 123rd U.S. Open,” said Jon Podany, the USGA’s chief commercial officer. “We are looking forward to providing fans with new and innovative ways to engage with the action and drama of this year’s championship and ensure that their experience at The Los Angeles Country Club is a fun and memorable one.” 

From June 12-18, fans can expect: 

USGA Experience & Museum Exhibit 

The USGA Experience is designed to give fans an immersive look at the USGA’s efforts to unify, showcase, govern and advance the game. One side of the tent is dedicated to the USGA Golf Museum and Library, complete with golf history exhibits and artifacts honoring some of the game’s greatest figures. The adjoining tent has many interactive activities for fans, including a “What Would You Shoot?” activation, in which users can enter their Handicap Index® or average score and learn what their Course Handicap™ would be from the championship tees at The Los Angeles Country Club. Additionally, there is a California Showcase in cooperation with the Southern California Golf Association, a Rules of Golf quiz and USGA championship information, complete with an opportunity to hit a golf ball onto a hole on The Los Angeles Country Club’s South Course. 

USGA Championship Merchandise Shopping 

Fans can shop for their favorite championship merchandise at two locations on The Los Angeles Country Club property. The Merchandise Pavilion, the main tent in Fan Central, covers 24,000 square feet and features more than 400,000 items from 45 brands bearing the 123rd U.S. Open Championship logo, including hats, polo shirts, outerwear, T-shirts, posters, headcovers, golf towels and much more. Fans can also visit the 9,300 square foot satellite merchandise tent located on the left side of the 10th hole. Major apparel brands such as G/FORE, Johnnie-O, Straight Down, Ralph Lauren, Adidas, Nike and more will be available at both locations. Peter Millar, the official outfitter of the USGA, will be a featured brand in the merchandise tents, showcasing a special Los Angeles–themed custom print polo, among their many other apparel offerings. 

American Express On-Site Benefits 

The American Express® Food Garden and Card Member Lounge, located on the third hole, will feature local concession items as well as upgraded outdoor seating. The American Express Card Member Lounge is open to American Express Card Members and two of their guests who will be able to relax, recharge and enjoy the sights and sounds of the championship. American Express Card Members will also receive 10 percent off all purchases in the Lounge, Food Garden and all on-site concession stands when they use their American Express Card.

The American Express Food Garden will include items for purchase from featured concessionaire Kogi BBQ, as well as enjoy additional items for sale from local small businesses, picnic tables, photo opportunities, the live broadcast on a large screen, and views of the third fairway. Card Members may borrow a portable phone charger for the day and grab a complimentary American Express Radio to hear all the on-course action via the official live SiriusXM broadcast during championship rounds. All fans can receive a complimentary radio during select windows Thursday through Sunday. On-site benefits are available while supplies last. Space limitations and other terms apply.

On-Site Wayfinding Powered by Cisco 

Fans can utilize the USGA app – a brand-new all-in-one destination for fans offering features and innovations to bolster wall-to-wall content for the U.S. Open – on iOS and Android to locate their favorite players, see which group is upcoming on any hole and find grandstands, concessions and other amenities throughout The Los Angeles Country Club. Step-by-step navigation, powered by Cisco, will make it easy for fans to navigate around the venue and have a memorable championship experience. 

Refreshing DEWAR’S Lemon Wedge Cocktail 

The “DEWAR’S Lemon Wedge,” a twist on the classic highball, returns as the Official Cocktail of the U.S. Open, having made its debut in 2022. Made with premium DEWAR’S 12-Year-Old Scotch whisky, club soda and fresh lemonade, topped with a golf-tee pick and lemon wedge for garnish, fans in upgraded ticket and hospitality facilities on-site will enjoy a bartender-made version of this refreshing cocktail in a commemorative cup. For those who cannot make it to the course but want to raise a toast to the championship, a cocktail kit is currently available nationwide with all the ingredients and accessories included to recreate the cocktail at home, from golf ball glassware to golf tee garnish; see here. For the first time in 2023, a version of the Lemon Wedge also will be available as a ready-to-drink scotch cocktail in a can and will be available at concession stands throughout the course. 

Pose with the U.S. Open Trophy at The Lexus Electrified Experience 

The Lexus Electrified Experience in Fan Central offers a wide range of interactive activities for fans to enjoy. Guests will have the opportunity to engage with the latest RXh F Sport Performance model and the first-ever all-electric RZ. In addition, guests can have their swing professionally analyzed by a coach, test their putting skills, and pose for a photo with the U.S. Open Trophy. Explore the course to find more Lexus vehicles, like the first-ever TX, encompassing a new era of three-row luxury.
