San Diego’s only Tom Fazio designed course originally opened in 1999 as part of the Meadows Del Mar, a private residential community of 134 home sites. In 2003, Manchester Financial Group, purchased the land – including the golf course, clubhouse and a parcel zoned for hotel development. The course was renamed The Grand Golf Club, and the extensively renovated and expanded clubhouse was opened in September 2006.


With spectacular fairways that wind throughout the scenic valleys of the beautiful Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve, the private rolling greens of The Grand Golf Club are the centerpiece of The Grand Del Mar luxury resort.

Melding extreme playability with stunning natural beauty, the 18 hole, par 72 course features 7,160 yards spread over a lush 380 acres.  Tee locations span from 4,824 to 7,160 yards in length, accommodating all levels of play.  Recent course improvements include the redesign of the 16th hole from a par 4 into a par 5 and lengthened by 115 yards. Other additions: a $1 million cascading water feature with a trickling stream and 18 foot waterfall; a short game practice area featuring a chipping green and sand bunkers; a second 4,200 square foot putting green for a total of four short game areas; a 5,000 square foot practice tee on the back side of the practice range; state of the art laser measuring devices and new bunker sand (Palm Springs 75/25 marble crush mix).
