Well Billy, spring is a lovely time of year to visit Sacramento. I just got back from the California Democratic Convention there, and I have very happy memories of an inspiring trip to the Capitol I took as a schoolboy.
The website of the Capitol State Museum provides the following information about tours:
Hours are Weekdays: 8 – 5; Weekends: 9 – 5 and admission is free. The building is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.
For School and Group Tours (10 – 35 people): Free guided school and group tours are by reservation only for groups from 10 to 35 persons. They recommend a ratio of ten students to one adult chaperone.
