Veteran's Fair

WOODLAND HILLS, CA — The Valley Economic Alliance along with the California Employment Development Department  is hosting the 9th annual sold out veteran job fair of its kind in Los Angeles County on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the Warner Center Marriott Hotel located at 21850 Oxnard Street, Woodland Hills, CA from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Over 1,500 veterans from our local military bases who have returned from active duty will have the opportunity to meet face to face with more than 90 quality employers from a wide assortment of industries.  Some of the employers will be interviewing and hiring candidates on the spot providing veterans the opportunity to fill more than 1,500 confirmed job openings.   Industries include manufacturing, retail, healthcare, banking, construction and engineering.

“Events like the “Honor a Hero-Hire a Veteran” Job & Resource Fair, which connects Los Angeles and Ventura Counties’ talented workers with employers looking to hire, are a critical part of The Valley Economic Alliance’s efforts to strengthen our economy and support a stronger workforce,” said Kenn Phillips, Vice President.  “The Honor a Hero-Hire a Veteran” Job & Resource Fair will also provide our veterans , who have bravely sacrificed in defense of our freedom and have considerable talent and unique skills that will strengthen our civilian workforce and our economy.  I want to thank our veterans for their service, as well as California Employment Development Department and the participating businesses for their efforts to build a stronger, more innovative San Fernando Valley,” he added.
