Van Nuys City Hall

VAN NUYS, CA – The “Civic Ambassadors” are joining forces with The Salvation Army Citizens Advisory Council to plan and execute a community preparedness exercise for Friday, September 4th, 2020.

This joint exercise with all local, state and federal government entities being invited, will bring education and awareness to our community on how to prepare for disasters. Especially during this pandemic of Coronavirus, this exercise will focus on common catastrophic happenings and how to be ready for earthquakes, gas leaks, health pandemics, and a variety of other possible scenarios.

“We look forward to working with all of our community partners to coordinate and plan this town hall type event.  Especially as this Coronavirus pandemic passes through America and the world, it shows us how unprepared we all really are, and we are going to change that through education advocacy and planning this upcoming community event,” said Council President Emeritus & Honorary Mayor of Van Nuys George Christopher Thomas.

The first meeting regarding the planning and execution of this event is Friday, May 1st, 2020.  For more information, please visit www.civicambassadors.org and sign up for email updates. The planning meeting will be held at 14545 Friar Street in Van Nuys, California at the new 1370 Rooftop Lounge.  (http://www.1370rooftoplounge.com/)
