VAN NUYS, CA – Van Nuys Councilman George Christopher Thomas is reminding you to vote today. In order to cast a ballot for Thomas, please visit the State Building at 6150 Van Nuys Boulevard between 2pm and 8pm on Thursday May 16th.
“Over the past couple years, we have taken the Van Nuys Council from worst in the city, to first in the city. We are the #1 Council of all 99 in Los Angeles, and together we can do more. I pledge to address this homeless crisis, transform Van Nuys Boulevard to the economic epicenter of Los Angeles, and get more people involved in city government. With all the courtesy and respect in the world, I humbly ask for your vote today,” said Thomas.
To vote for Thomas in this upcoming election, you can cast your ballot at the State of California Auditorium on the ground floor of the State Building at 6150 Van Nuys Boulevard. Anyone is eligible to vote provided they live, work or have an ongoing stake in Van Nuys. The polls are open from 2pm to 8pm on Thursday May 16th, 2019.
Thomas has served on the Van Nuys Neighborhood Council since 2010. Thomas has been elected Council President a record four times, and is the longest serving Council President in the history of Van Nuys. Thomas started working for a United States Congressman a year out of high school, and spent several years on Capitol Hill doing legislative and press work. Thomas is a direct descendant of two signers of the Declaration of Independence, and is related to two U.S. Presidents. (William Henry Harrison & Benjamin Harrison). Thomas is a member of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), with his patriot ancestor Jonathan Stevens fighting at the Battle of Lexington & Concord, as well as the Battle of Bunker Hill.
