New Launch This Month At Royal Lancaster London
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM — Just launched earlier this month, there is a new place to be in London, the Hyde Lobby Bar, situated a stone’s throw from Hyde Park, is set to become one of the most exciting additions to London’s drinking and dining scene. Royal Lancaster London has been the talk of the town this autumn following its £80 million renovation. The Hyde Lobby Bar, a brand new addition to the hotel, will be the prime spot to “see and be seen” in London.
The cocktail menu has been meticulously created and includes signature cocktails to reflect the history of the iconic hotel. The Great Gats-bee features Chivas 18, cherry brandy and honey syrup collected from the hotel’s very own rooftop honey farm (£12); while The Italian Job cocktail is made with Beefeater 24 Gin, Martini Rosso, Campari and Aperol (£12) – a salute to the original 1968 Italian Job film which included scenes filmed in front of Royal Lancaster London. For a touch of extra indulgence, the hotel has created its own aromatic Royal Lancaster Gin which will be served in the bar’s speciality Gin Martini (£12).
The wine list and craft beers are complemented by R de Ruinart Champagne poured by the glass (£14), as well as Ruinart Blanc de Blancs (£17 per glass). During daylight hours, the bar is the perfect place to enjoy refined light cuisine. The alluring aroma of freshly ground coffee permeates the space each morning courtesy of the gold artesian Victoria Arduino press coffee machine. The breakfast menu features Homebaked Danish pastries (£2 each or £5 per trio); Granola with Greek yogurt, honey and berries (£6); Mango kiwi, strawberry and passion fruit salad (£8); Three pieces of Cruffin with smoked bacon and mature cheddar, or Somerset Brie, spinach, tomato and mushroom (£5).
Enticing light lunch dishes that change seasonally include Seared rare beef with spring onion and sweet soya dressing (£10); Royal Lancaster London smoked salmon, rye toast, confit lemon and salmon keta (£9); and Seared tuna with avocado and crispy seaweed (£10). Scottish lobster and crayfish cocktail, quail egg and caviar (£20) also grace the menu. Glorious sweets feature delights such as homemade Macaroons (£6 for three); the Éclair of the day (£4); a Trio of tarts (£6) and dressed Buttermilk Scones (£5 each).
Royal Lancaster London opened as one of the capital’s most chic hotels in 1967. 50 years later, every aspect of the Hyde Lobby Bar has been tailored to reflect the hotel’s rich and celebrated past. The venue has masterfully combined classic 1960’s decor with contemporary style, with white marble enveloping the space and a centrepiece brass chandelier. Leather banquet-style seating, rich velvet sofas and mode armchairs clothed in soft hues are arranged around white marble and brass tables.
With 20th Century dining experiences only complete with an Instagram post, Hyde Lobby Bar’s acres of white marble provide a beautiful photogenic backdrop for those all-important shots.
Hyde Lobby Bar is open from 7.30am until 11pm Monday to Friday; 9am until 11pm on Saturday; and 9am until 10pm on Sunday.
