Times Opinion won three awards and the Newsroom took home one award at the 46th Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards.

The New York Times won four News and Documentary Emmy Awards this week for Opinion and Newsroom projects.

Opinion Video won three Emmy Awards. Two Weeks Inside Gaza’s Ruined Hospitals won in the category of Outstanding News Discussion & Analysis — Editorial and Opinion, marking the fifth consecutive year that Opinion Video has won in this category. The behind-the-scenes look inside hospitals facing the brutality of the war in Gaza featured Dr. Samer Attar, a Chicago surgeon, during his volunteer medical mission in Gaza. He recorded his video diaries during the war from the hospital where he worked and lived trying to save lives in desperate  circumstances. The film was produced by Alexander Stockton and Amanda Su, senior produced by Jonah Kessel and executive produced by Adam Ellick.

Here’s the Truth from Opinion Video won two Emmy awards: Outstanding Graphic Design — News and Outstanding Art Direction / Set Decoration / Scenic Design — Documentary. The animated short film is a video guest essay by Neil Makhija, a county commissioner and the chair of the Board of Elections for Montgomery County, Pa. It was animated by Molly Crabapple, Kim Boekbinder and Jim Batt, and produced by Jonah Kessel and executive produced by Adam Ellick.

The Newsroom won Outstanding Hard News Feature — Short Form for She Survived an Airstrike that Killed Her Entire Family in Gaza. The film was executive produced by Sameen Amin and Solana Pyne, senior produced by Hanaan Sarhan and produced by Neil Collier, with Mona El-Naggar serving as producer and reporter, Hassan Kilani as cinematographer and Kristen Williamson as editor.

“This award is incredibly well-deserved recognition for a powerful and important piece of journalism,” said Solana Pyne, director of Newsroom Video. “The story of 11-year-old Dareen al-Bayaa offered a window on the toll of war in a way that only video can.”
