Oscars Beef Booze and Broads

In December 2011, former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman opened Oscar’s Beef • Booze • Broads, a uniquely Las Vegas steakhouse, inside the iconic dome of the Plaza Hotel and Casino that overlooks Fremont Street and the heart of his beloved downtown Las Vegas. Just as Goodman served three terms as the “Happiest Mayor in the Universe,” Oscar’s Beef • Booze • Broads will now take its place as the “Happiest Steakhouse in the Universe.”

The approach to food and service at Oscar’s Beef • Booze • Broads is the same as Oscar’s approach to life… eat, drink and have fun! Or, in Oscar’s words: enjoy the beef, booze and broads! Oscar’s steakhouse features perfectly aged steaks cooked over a 600 degree grill. Flavorful, tender and juicy, Oscar’s beef is cooked to perfection and is accompanied by high-quality, madefrom- scratch sides. The restaurant’s entrées and appetizers are inspired by family recipes and tailored to meet the tastes of even the most discerning diners. And of course, Oscar’s offers a wide variety of delicious, hand-crafted cocktails. In addition to great food, Oscar’s Beef • Booze • Broads pairs a great meal with the unique opportunity to have one of Oscar’s “Broads” visit with customers during dinner.

These attractive women are reminiscent of the iconic showgirls who accompanied the former mayor to events during his tenure. However, instead of being showgirls, these women are dinner companions who can discuss subjects such as politics, sports, wine, Las Vegas history or things to do downtown or on the Strip. When not dining with customers, they roam the restaurant as hostesses, adding to the glamorous and uniquely Vegas style of Oscar’s. As part of the retro-meets-modern style of the steakhouse, Oscar’s décor incorporates memorabilia from Goodman’s 12-year tenure as mayor, including personal artifacts, photographs and news clips. The logo for Oscar’s includes “since 1939” to represent Goodman’s birth year. Adjacent to the steakhouse is Simpatico, “An Italian Speakeasy and Grill” – paying homage to Goodman’s years as an advisor and private attorney representing high-profile clients that played a role in making Vegas what it is today. Serving the customers of both restaurants is a new bar and lounge that serves a variety of cocktails, including martinis, the former mayor’s signature drink. Led by Chef Jeffrey Martell, recognized as American Culinary Federation (ACF) Las Vegas Chef of the Year in 2011, Oscar’s and Simpatico serve dinner nightly beginning at 5 p.m. Oscar’s bar and lounge opens at 4 p.m. Oscar’s has seating for over 120 people; while Simpatico serves 75 and the bar area accommodates 55 customers.
