SANTA MONICA, Calif., (July 8, 2011) — Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier is marking the “I-405 Closure” with up to 53 hours of free unlimited ride passes for each guest with a San Fernando Valley zip code. In addition, each guest who purchases an unlimited ride pass will receive a free construction cone colored orange cotton candy. The traffic-bearing offers are valid from Friday, July 15 at 7 p.m. to Sunday, July 17 at 11 p.m.

The “I-405 Closure” Valley zip code offer is subject to verification with proper ID by the individual, valid for up to five unlimited ride passes per group and limited to one group redemption per day.

Metro and Caltrans are set to impose an unprecedented full freeway closure of I-405 for 53 consecutive hours through the Sepulveda Pass from U.S. 101 to I-10. The construction will run July 15-18 and will focus primarily on the Mulholland Dr. bridge demolition and reconstruction.

“In a city driven by car culture and outdoor activities, we want to provide Angelenos and Westsiders with an additional option for spending the ‘I-405 Closure’ weekend,” says Jeff Klocke, Director of Marketing and Sales at Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier. “If guests can make their way to Pacific Park through the detours and stifling traffic, we want to recognize their efforts with a free unlimited ride pass and/or locally with a free construction cone colored orange cotton candy.”
