Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest Honors U.S. Military and First Responders at America’s Heroes Weekend with Free Admission September 7th & 8th
BIG BEAR LAKE, CA — The brave men and women who serve in the U.S. Military and first responders who serve their local communities get free tickets to the 49th Annual Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest on September 7-8, 2019. Opening weekend kicks off with America’s Heroes weekend, a commemorative celebration that honors anyone with an official badge or military I.D., including active military and veterans, law enforcement and firefighters, as well as their immediate family members.
The Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest, rated Southern California’s #1 Oktoberfest, takes place high in the San Bernardino Mountains. American heroes will enjoy a weekend of chicken dancing, singing, log sawing, stein holding and feasting in German tradition. Opening ceremonies pay special tribute to America’s troops by tapping the first keg of the 2019 Oktoberfest season. The Express Band, Southern California’s premier German band is the headlining band. Other opening ceremony festivities include the Bear Valley Marine Color Guard, singing of the National Anthem, and Big Bear’s own Little Bear Dancers.
Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest begins Saturday, September 7 and runs for nine consecutive weekends through Saturday, November 2, 2019. The weekend festivities takes place at Big Bear Lake Convention Center, located at 42900 Big Bear Blvd. America’s Heroes weekend (Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8) offers free admission for all past and present military, fire fighters and law enforcement. General admission ticket prices for Saturdays in September range from $17.99 to $23.99 for adults, $13.99 to $17.99 for seniors (62+), and $11 for children 12 and under. Saturdays in October range from $26.99 to $32.99 for adults, $18.99 to $23.99 for seniors (62+), and $11 for children 12 and under. Sunday admission prices are $12 for adults, $9 for seniors, and children 12 and under are FREE. Saturday, November 2nd is a special encore celebration with general admission tickets at $17.99 for adults, $13.99 for seniors (62+), and $11 for children 12 and under.
