SACRAMENTO – The California Air Pollution Control Officers Association (CAPCOA) in partnership with the South Coast Air Quality Management District, local air districts, and Assemblymember José Luis Solache, will co-host the first Clean Air, Clean Solutions Showcase on Monday, August 3, 2026, at the California State Capitol.
The free public event will highlight the efforts of California’s local air districts to improve air quality, protect public health, advance environmental justice, and support a stronger, cleaner economy through innovative technologies, community partnerships, and local clean air programs.
The event will also highlight the critical role state funding and public-private partnerships play in accelerating the turnover of older, higher-emitting vehicles and equipment by helping businesses, public agencies, schools, and other organizations invest in cleaner technologies that improve air quality while supporting California’s economy.
Attendees will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of clean-air solutions and see firsthand how local air districts are reducing emissions and protecting communities across California.
The showcase will feature:
- Information on state-funded incentive programs and public-private partnerships that leverage public investment to accelerate the replacement of older, higher-emitting trucks, buses, agricultural equipment, public fleets, and other equipment with cleaner, lower-emission technologies. Equipment showcased will include:

- Zero-emission Class 8 Heavy-Duty Trucks
- Zero-emission municipal vehicles, such as waste haulers and street sweepers
- Electric emergency response vehicles, including an electric fire truck
- Agricultural equipment and other advanced clean technologies
- Air monitoring demonstrations showing sensors, mobile monitoring platforms, and how air districts respond during incidents such as wildfires, industrial fires, and hazardous material releases.
- Information on the Community Air Protection Program (AB 617) and local efforts to improve air quality in disproportionately impacted communities.
- Learn about the Blue Whales Blue Skies partnership on reducing emissions while protecting wildlife.
- Educational exhibits highlight the role of air districts in reducing smoke impacts and supporting prescribed (beneficial) fire to reduce wildfire risk and improve forest health.
- The interactive Global Inheritance Clean Energy Playground.
- The Passport to Clean Air Challenge, encouraging visitors to explore exhibitor booths while learning about clean air technologies and programs.
The event will bring together local air districts, industry partners, and clean technology leaders to demonstrate how innovation is helping California achieve cleaner air to protect public health
