Motorcyclist Struck by Vehicle in North Hollywood May See Justice Served

SAN FERNANDO VALLEY, CA — Last Wednesday, the suspect involved in a road rage hit and run incident was arrested for felony hit and run. The suspect was identified as 39-year-old Mauricio Lopez, a resident of Sun Valley. The bail amount was set at $50,000.00. The motorcyclist remains in stable condition at a local hospital.  The Los Angeles Police Department, Valley Traffic Division detectives were investigating a hit-and-run that left a 44-year old person injured.

On November 3, 2013, around 3:25 pm, a vehicle described as a white 2001 GMC Sonoma pick-up truck was traveling northbound on Vineland Avenue approaching Morrison Street when a motorcycle also traveling northbound Vineland Avenue, abruptly conducted a lane change in front of the pick-up truck. The pick-up then collided with the rear of the motorcycle.

The driver of the pick-up truck failed to stop, render aid and identify himself.  The motorcyclist a 44-year-old male, resident of North Hollywood sustained severe injuries and was transported to the local hospital where he remains in stable condition.

The driver of the pick-up truck was followed by a witness. The driver left the pick-up abandoned and fled on foot.

The hit and run driver of the pick-up is described as a male Hispanic, in his 30’s to 40’s and still remains outstanding.
