Souvenir cards reflect FIFA, teams, host city Los Angeles

| LOS ANGELES (May 12, 2026) – With FIFA World Cup 2026™ on the horizon, Metro is tapping into full-on fútbol mania by launching a limited-edition “Metro wants to make the trips to and from the matches at LA Stadium a special memory for fans” said Fernado Dutra, Metro Board Chair. “These commemorative TAP cards are just one way Metro will delight visitors and regular riders alike.” The World Cup TAP card collection features three FIFA themed reflective designs, eight country specific TAP cards representing teams scheduled to play matches in Los Angeles and an additional In addition, a limited-edition collector’s box will also be available, featuring eight country cards and the light-up TAP card. The eight country cards are: Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, New Zealand, Paraguay, Switzerland, Türkiye, the United States and Mexico. The fan favorite country TAP cards include Argentina, Brazil, England, Germany, Japan, Mexico, South Africa, South Korea, and Spain. The agency will release more than 800,000 World Cup TAP cards to be produced across all designs. They will be available at select TAP vending machines located at all Metro rail stations and along the G and J Lines, Metro Customer Centers, Fan Zones, Metro station activation events, and online at taptogo.net making purchase easy for fans everywhere. Prices range from $10 for country cards to $20 for FIFA-branded and light up TAP card designs, with the collector’s box priced at $110, while supplies last. Regular TAP cards priced at $2 will remain available throughout the system. “Metro is proud to play a role on the world stage as we welcome the World Cup to Los Angeles this summer,” said Metro CEO Stephanie Wiggins. “These commemorative TAP cards are more than a way to ride, they’re a celebration of our city’s culture, diversity, and shared love of the game. Metro is helping connect communities, fans, and visitors to this historic moment, and we’re excited to give riders a keepsake they can carry with them long after the final goal!” While these commemorative TAP cards are a collector’s item, they can be loaded with fare and used like regular TAP cards for travel on Metro and 26 transit agencies that accept TAP throughout LA County.
