According to KTLA:
The man was apparently walking along the tracks near the Northridge Fashion Center. The man that the train hit was a 27 year old from Sun Valley.
Christopher Vasquez, 27, was walking near the train tracks around 9pm on Saturday.
The conductor initially said that he thought he hit a vehicle. The train was traveling from Goleta to Los Angeles.
