WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Wednesday, June 11, at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA), ranking member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, will join her committee colleagues in questioning Bryan Bedford, nominee to be Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration.
“As the tragic DCA mid-air collision earlier this year made clear, FAA needs a leader who is laser-focused on implementing stronger, more proactive safety oversight. I expect Mr. Bedford to come prepared to show how he will prioritize safety over other interests, including implementing an effective safety management system across the agency, upholding pilot training requirements, and closing the airspace safety gaps identified by the NTSB. Now is not the time to take a light touch approach,” Sen. Cantwell said.
The nomination hearing will be livestreamed HERE.
