Van Nuys CA. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Valley Traffic Detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating a driver who fatally struck a male bicyclist in Canoga Park. On Saturday, May 14, 2011, at about 12:15 p.m., 71-year-old, Eduardo Perez, a resident of Canoga Park, was riding his bicycle eastbound on the south crosswalk of Sherman Way when he was struck by a possible small black 4-door sports utility vehicle.
The vehicle was traveling eastbound on Sherman Way, making a right turn onto Canoga Avenue when the collision occurred. The driver of the black sports utility vehicle immediately left the scene without rendering aid or identifying himself or herself as required by law. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics rushed the victim to a local hospital where he died two days later as a result of his injuries.
The hit-and-run driver and vehicle remain outstanding.
