LOS ANGELES, CA — What started as a fist fight ended in a deadly shooting that left two men dead. On Wednesday, November 30, 2011, just after midnight, 31-year-old Arturo Gomez and 36-year-old Jesus Rendon, were standing outside in the 2100 block of City View Avenue. Five unidentified suspects walked up to Gomez and Rendon and one of them began fighting with Gomez. Gunfire then erupted from within the suspect group and both Gomez and Rendon were shot.
Gomez was pronounced dead at scene and Rendon was taken to a local hospital where he died a short time later. Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect’s in this case. The shooting is believed to be gang related. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Hollenbeck Homicide Detectives Rios or Alfaro at 323-342-4184.
