NORTH HILLS, CA — More than 100 community leaders and supporters of Valley Community Healthcare will attend the grand opening celebration of its new North Hills Wellness Center at 9119 Haskell Avenue, North Hills, on Thursday evening, April 16, 2015.  Valley Community Healthcare’s President and CEO, Paula Wilson and Chairman of the Board, Carlos E. Garcia, will personally acknowledge the public’s support of the $4 million Expansion Campaign that equipped, furnished, and facilitated the establishment of this 14,000 square foot medical home for low-income residents of the West San Fernando Valley. The North Hills Wellness Center broke ground in January 2014, and will soon be fully operational thanks to the generous contributions of the Ralph M. Parsons Foundation, the M .Keck Foundation, the Weingart Foundation, Kaiser Permanente, Health Net, L.A. Care Health Plan, and former L.A. County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky.
With the opening of the North Hills Wellness Center, Valley Community Healthcare provides lower income families and those newly-insured under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) with access to a wide-range of primary care services in two convenient neighborhood locations. “Patient records and provider communications have been integrated into an electronic medical records and telecommunications network that links the North Hills and North Hollywood centers, and makes ongoing care more accessible to our patients, regardless of which health center they attend,” stated Roger A. Peeks, MD, Chief Medical Officer.
