Van Nuys LAPD

VAN NUYS, CA — The Los Angeles Police Deparmentt is offering a $50,000 award for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the 2005 Murder of Frank Whitehead.
On Thursday, October 20, 2005 at approximately 8:20 pm, an unknown suspect entered the apartment of victim Frank Whitehead (pictured) through the front door, produced a 9 mm handgun and shot the victim in the upper torso. The suspect fled on foot and Whitehead subsequently died of his wounds.
The suspect is described as an African American man with black hair, brown eyes and a muscular build, 5’11” to 6’4”, 220 to 240 pounds and 30 to 35 years of age. He was wearing a multicolored sweatshirt and a grey beanie.
Public assistance is requested in identifying the suspect.
