The California Employment Development Department will sponsor the Honor a Hero, Hire a Vet Job and Resources Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Thursday, October 24 at the Airtel Plaza Hotel, 7277 Valjean Avenue in Van Nuys. The event is free and open to the public.
Honor a Hero, Hire a Vet job fairs bring together veterans seeking jobs and employers with job openings. The fair assists military personnel, including National Guard members and reservists returning from active duty, with finding a job.
Government agencies and community organizations also will be on hand to provide information on employment, benefits, training, education and apprenticeships as well as other veteran services.
Among other employers, Bank of America will have recruiters on site to meet with veterans, National Guard and Reserve members returning from active duty. . Recruiters will share with attendees programs that the bank created to help them transition to new roles and ensure they have the support they need throughout their career.
