PHOENIX, ARIZONA — Daphne’s Headcovers is about to celebrate their 35th year of business as the creator of novelty golf club covers. What started as a mom daughter fundraiser in 1978 is now a global company and these top quality headcovers can be found in 75 countries. Jane Spicer started the company with her mother, Daphne (the company’s namesake) because of a bribe. Daphne challenged her daughter to sell enough of the newly invented headcover and she’d buy Jane a car. Jane did just this and Daphne’s Headcovers was born! Jane started out with a lousy sales presentation and loads of enthusiasm as she went to her first account armed with a Bogey, Eagle and Birdie headcover. Enthusiasm and tenacity got Jane in the door of the Arizona Biltmore Golf shop and many more over the years.
At the moment Daphne’s is celebrating its drive to bring manufacturing back to their Phoenix, Arizona factory. Currently 10% of their manufacturing is in Phoenix and the company has a strong push to increase this percentage over the year. “Hearing the sewing machines again is like feeling the pulse come back into my building ”, said Spicer.
Daphne’s Headcovers can also be found on the bag of over 200 PGA and LPGA touring professionals. Their newest addition is Bubba Watson and his full bodied headcover.
At Daphne’s they are so committed to their quality that each Headcovers bears a life time guarantee and their factory phone number. If anything goes wrong with your headcover ever the company will repair or replace it. (For more information, please visit www.daphnesheadcovers.com)
