CHATSWORTH, CA — Build WorkSource Center, located at 9207 Eton Ave., Chatsworth, CA 91311, is now offering a FREE Workplace Violence Prevention Workshop to employers. Workplace Violence is a serious problem today, it seems that every time we turn the TV on or read the newspaper headlines, there is a story about employees deliberately hurting or killing themselves and even their colleagues. Workplace violence relates to not only physical violence, but also verbal threats and disruptive behavior. It can affect the lives of your employees and your customers. Build’s “Workplace Violence Prevention Workshop” assists employers and employees in addressing and recognizing potentially dangerous issues and situations. As an employer or business owner, are you equipped to handle incidents of workplace violence if they occur in your place of business?

To protect your workplace, employees, customers and to avoid liability, it is important for you, the employer, to be proactive and know how to address workplace violence. When you prepare a workplace violence plan and train your managers and employees, your workplace becomes a safer environment. Employers need to train their employees especially their managers on the warning signs of workplace violence and how to respond if workplace violence should occur.

Build WorkSource Center’s “Workplace Violence Prevention Workshop” will focus on the following topics:

  • Types of Workplace Violence • Examples of Workplace Violence
  • OSHA’s General Duty Clause • Addressing Workplace Violence
