The Kardashians began their dream vacation on Air Tahiti Nui, Tahiti’s luxurious, award winning international airline. Officially known as French Polynesia, the islands of Tahiti are much closer than many people think. Only eight hours from Los Angeles, located in the same time zone as Hawaii, and the same distance below the equator as Hawaii is above the equator. Covering a vast area of the South Pacific – about the same size as Western Europe – Tahiti is comprised of 118 islands and atolls broken up into five distinct archipelagoes.

Bora Bora is one of the main islands in the Society Islands archipelago. Other islands included in the archipelago are Tahiti, Moorea, Raiatea, Huahine and Taha’a. Featuring some of the most romantic, beautiful and adventurous locations on earth, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians season finale episodes were shot on the breathtaking Hilton Bora Bora Nui Resort & Spa, built above what author James Michener coined as “the most beautiful lagoon in the world.”

The Kardashian family experienced some of Tahiti’s top adventures including swimming with sting rays, being pampered in a world-class hilltop spa while enjoying a view of majestic Mt. Otemanu, dining on exquisite international renowned Tahitian cuisine, enjoying breakfast delivered to their overwater bungalow by outrigger canoe bedecked in flowers and jetskiing through the lagoon of Bora Bora.

The family also enjoyed dinner at Bloody Mary’s, where they dug their feet in the sand floor and enjoyed charbroiled seafood. The island of Bora Bora is just under an hour flight from the main island of Tahiti , where all international flights arrive in the capital city of Papeete. Arriving by air to Bora Bora is a unique experience, visitors land on the airstrip that was built by U.S. troops during World War II. The runway is on a motu (small islet) and guests are met by hotel boat shuttles that transport them to their resort.

As one of the top-rated honeymoon destinations in the world, Bora Bora has long been a location for filming and the playground for many celebrities.
