LOS ANGELES, CA — Today, the Office of Assemblymember González joined the grand opening of the first completed Executive Directive 1 (ED1) affordable housing project in Koreatown. 611 S Hobart Blvd, a seven-story building, will provide 80 studio and one-bedroom apartments of 100% income-restricted affordable housing.

“I applaud Mayor Bass and the Lee Family’s continued commitment to building affordable housing with urgency,” said Assemblymember González“Affordable housing in our city centers—close to public transit— is the kind of smart and compassionate policy we need from our leaders across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.”

Increasing affordable housing units in the heart of an incredibly multicultural and multilingual neighborhood is a testament to the significance of Executive Directive 1, issued by Mayor Bass in December 2022 to expedite the development of 100% affordable housing developments.

Assemblymember Mark González is the Assembly Majority Whip. He serves on the Committees on Appropriations, Health, Public Safety, Rules, and Utilities & Energy. He represents the 54th District, composed of the cities of Los Angeles, Commerce, Montebello, and Vernon.
