Law enforcement personnel face distinct and significant challenges arising from the demands, responsibilities, and experiences of their profession. The Heart of LAPD Walk brings Department personnel, families, friends, and supporters together to honor and remember those lost to suicide, raise awareness, and reaffirm the Los Angeles Police Department’s longstanding commitment to employee health and well-being.
The event promotes a proactive, whole-person approach to wellness, emphasizing mental, physical, financial, and family well-being. Participants will have opportunities to connect with resources and support services designed to help personnel and their loved ones throughout their careers and beyond.
The walk also recognizes the pioneering legacy of LAPD Behavioral Science Services and the Department’s continued efforts to foster a culture where caring for oneself and one another, strengthening resilience, and seeking support are recognized as essential components of readiness and sustained service.
In addition to the walk, attendees can enjoy:
· Command Staff Competition
· Resource and Wellness Booths
· Family Activities
· Lunch provided by FlavorTrucks, La Oveja, and Heritage Kitchen
Together, we walk in remembrance, support one another, strengthen our community, and promote a culture of wellness across the LAPD family.
