The FBI Albuquerque Field Office and Laguna Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual who attempted to rob the Route 66 Travel Center off the I-40 Freeway near Exit 140 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, within the boundaries of the Pueblo of Laguna Indian Reservation.

On August 7, 2025, the individual entered the travel center and held up the security guard at gunpoint. He asked where the cashier cage was located and, after learning the travel center did not have one, the suspect left the area in a four-door vehicle of an unknown make and model.

The individual had a tattoo of an unknown design on his right hand and wore a mask.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the individual(s) involved in this attempted robbery.
