WHAT: As holiday festivities approach, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) is reminding riders that the easiest way to reach seasonal events this holiday season is by hopping on Metro’s bus or rail system.

With convenient park-and-ride options, and connections to popular holiday destinations, Metro helps travelers spend less time in traffic and less money on parking and gas, and more time celebrating with friends and loved ones.

Deck the Hall holiday concerts at Walt Disney Concert Hall for family sing-alongs holiday movie screenings, jazzy carols, orchestral and chamber music, and more from Dec. 5 – 31. Plus, raise a glass to 2026 for New Year’s Eve with the Roots! Metro’s A or E Line to Grand Ave Arts/Bunker Hill or take Metro’s B or D Line to Civic Center and walk one block.

Holiday Ice Rink Pershing Square is the quintessential winter activity in the heart of beautiful downtown Los Angeles. Surrounded by art, lively activity and the impressive city skyline, our outdoor ice rink lets you enjoy entertainment and ice skating in Los Angeles under the sun and stars from Nov. 20 – Jan. 11, 2026. Metro’s B or D Line to Pershing Square.

Holidays at Universal Studios Hollywood makes the holiday merrier from Nov. 24 – Jan. 4, 2026. Embrace your naughty side with The Grinch™ during Grinchmas™. Enjoy some colorful play in SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™. Experience the magic of Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™. Metro B Line to Universal/Universal Studio City.

Ice at Santa Monica open for its 17th season through Jan. 19, 2026, offers an unforgettable holiday season experience to skate under the California sun by day and the twinkling stars by night. Metro E Line to Downtown Santa Monica.
              
LA Zoo Lights is L.A.’s wildest holiday tradition open through Jan. 11, 2026. Guests immerse themselves in a dazzling world of lantern sculptures and lights, with exciting new elements that will delight and entertain the entire family. This season, the event brings guests through a holiday themed wonderland. Metro Bus Line 296 to LA Zoo.

Long Beach Christmas Tree Lighting is back for its 11th year on Wednesday, Dec. 3 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. A 67-foot-tall Christmas tree and more than 500,000 lights illuminating the Terrace Plaza, this dazzling Tree Lighting shouldn’t be missed! Metro A Line to Downtown Long Beach.

Metrolink Holiday Express Train returns on Dec. 6 bringing with it holiday magic to stations across Southern California! Each experience begins with festive pre-boarding activities at the host station with music, treats, and crafts, followed by a scenic train ride featuring carolers, holiday characters, and a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. This year’s host stations include L.A. Union Station, San Bernardino Depot, Irvine, Riverside-Downtown, and Simi Valley. Metro Rail A, B, D Lines or Metro Bus J Line to LA Union Station.
