CSUN staff members filled the Northridge Center at the University Student Union on June 4 to honor years of service and celebrate their shared commitment to excellence.
Staff members walked a red carpet to enter the 59th Annual Staff Service and Recognition of Excellence Awards. Staff, managers and auxiliary employees are recognized at milestone years of service, starting at five years — and each five year increment thereafter.
In 2025, several staff members celebrated 40 years of service to CSUN. They included Michelle Harrington, David Nazarian College of Business and Economics; Gigi McGuire, Student Outreach and Recruitment; Kristen Pichler, University Student Union, and Maria Valiton, University Advising.
Hai-Ling Tang of the University Library and California State University Employees Union Chapter 312 president celebrated 45 years of service to CSUN.
The Recognition of Excellence Awards include the CSUN Presidential Award, CSUN Award of Merit, Jolene Koester Team Award, CSUN Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award, CSUN Student Assistant of the Year Award, CSUN Leadership Award, and CSUN Sustainability Award. The honorees for 2025 are listed below.
