Golf Headcovers, Business Of The Week, Novelty Golf Gifts

PHOENIX, ARIZONA — Daphne’s Headcovers is about to celebrate their 35th year of business as the creator of novelty golf club covers. What started as a mom daughter fundraiser in 1978 is now a global company and these top quality headcovers can be found in 75 countries. Jane Spicer started the company with her mother, Daphne (the company’s namesake) because of a bribe. Daphne challenged her daughter to sell enough of the newly invented headcover and she’d buy Jane a car. Jane did just this and Daphne’s Headcovers was born!  Jane started out with a lousy sales presentation and loads of enthusiasm as she went to her first account armed with a Bogey, Eagle and Birdie headcover. Enthusiasm and tenacity got Jane in the door of the Arizona Biltmore Golf shop and many more over the years.
