BINGHAMTON, NY—Craig Tremaroli, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Albany Field Office and Cory Minor, assistant chief of the Binghamton Police Department announced today the FBI is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for the murder of Aliza Spencer—seeking information.

12-year-old Aliza was struck in the chest by a bullet while walking on the sidewalk with her father and brother near their home on Bigelow Street in Binghamton, New York, on April 21, 2022.

Our partners at the Binghamton Police department have been tirelessly investigating this case since its inception. This reward is an important tool the FBI can provide to incentivize the public to come forward with information that can move the investigation forward and ensure justice is delivered to the Spencer family.

“What happened to Aliza is unacceptable,” said Craig Tremaroli, special agent in charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Albany Field Office. “Our children should be able to walk down the street with their families without fear of losing their lives. The FBI is deeply committed to providing any resource necessary to assist our partners at the Binghamton Police Department in finding who is responsible and ensuring they are held accountable for this unspeakable tragedy.”

“The Binghamton Police Department continues to work every angle of this case and won’t stop working until justice is delivered for Aliza and her family,” said Cory Minor, assistant chief of the Binghamton Police Department. “We’re grateful to the FBI for providing significant resources and for their partnership from the beginning. This is a solvable case – but we need the public’s help. We’re once again asking anyone with information to come forward. It could make the difference in this case.”

Anyone with information should call 1-800-CALL-FBI or the Binghamton Police Department’s Detective Bureau at (607) 772-7080.
