WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Brad Sherman (CA-32) issued the following statement on the Senate’s vote to end the government shutdown:

“This is a bad deal. I will be voting no. It will cause the healthcare premiums of 22 million people to double or even triple. A promise to hold a vote on healthcare premiums in the Senate is irrelevant, since Speaker Mike Johnson won’t allow a vote in the House.”

Shortly following the Senate’s vote, Congressman Sherman joined Spectrum News where he discussed his position in greater detail. Watch the full interview here.
