Disney’s “Planes: Fire & Rescue” Interactive Display To Be A Part Of The American Heroes Air Show

VAN NUYS, CA — Attendees the American Heroes Air Show, taking place on Saturday, June 21 at the Hansen Dam Sports Complex, will have a chance to see some of the exciting elements from Disney’s new ‘Planes: Fire & Rescue.’ The movie will come to life with a colorful interactive display that is loaded with activities. The display will feature games like “Smoke Jumpers Supply Drop” to test the skills of children of all ages, along with stickers, tattoos, coloring sheets and more, featuring characters from the big-screen adventure, which hits theaters July 18, 2014.

The American Heroes Air Show is one of only a few chosen air shows to host the display. “The interactive Disney display is a wonderful family attraction,” said James Paules, Volunteer Event Director. “We are absolutely thrilled to be able to share this experience, featuring Dusty and the exciting new characters from ‘Planes: Fire & Rescue’ with fans of all ages.”

“We kept the aviation community top of mind as we developed ‘Planes: Fire & Rescue,’ wanting to create authentic, realistic flight,” said director Bobs Gannaway. “We do a lot of research about the aircraft we feature, the speeds they can travel and the maneuvers they can do. We have flight experts and consultants like legendary Chuck Aaron on our team to make sure the end result is both authentic and fun to watch.”

The American Heroes Air Show will take place from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Hansen Dam Sports Complex, 11480 Foothill Boulevard in Lake View Terrace. The free helicopter aviation event will feature rotary-wing helicopters from various local, county, state, private media and federal agencies. In addition, there will be information regarding careers in public law enforcement and educational opportunities as well as an appearance by Chuck Aaron and the Red Bull flight team. Take the Metro local 233 to the intersection of Terra Bella Street and Foothill Boulevard. Show your valid TAP card, Metro employee ID, or LA County employee ID at the STAR Helicopters booth and save 5 percent on helicopter rides.
