This is a day to celebrate a culture that fuses Mexican heritage with U.S. life experiences, and celebrate the symbolic battle to overcome high odds and adversity. The biggest celebrations take place in the town of Puebla, Mexico, but Los Angeles has some of its own festivities for you to enjoy.

El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument Home of World Famous Olvera Street will host a three day fiesta, Friday May 4th-Sunday May 6th, 10:00am-10:00pm, with popular and traditional music, cultural presentations, festival, dance, food and live entertainment.

There will be Performances by the original Mariachi USA, Flamenco Dancers and many more. The Institute will offer free educational and cultural workshops, entertainment and bilingual historical information at Olvera Street. Workshops for children include coloring portraits of the Mexican heroes, storytelling about the important battle, learning to make piñatas and Mexican flags.
